We're Back!

Hello guys!

Wow. It's been too long since we've posted. This is Calissa, the baby of the family, and I am now eleven years old in sixth grade! By the way, our mom even forgot that she started this blog! 😋😂 Anyways, she has allowed me to continue this - I'm so excited!

Now...if you are new to this blog, welcome to the family! Here is a little bit about us...

ThWongs! We are a Christian, happy family of six. Life at our house is like a party! - this blog will allow you to see all the exciting times in our lives - hope you enjoy! (Since I do not have any recent photos, I just picked out a few favorites from my computer!)

(In order from back to front & age order:) Steve, Daisy, Brianna, Karinna, Marissa, and me...Cali

A picture with our cousins on my mom's side; celebrating Ashlyn's birthday. (In order from left to right and also age order:) Brianna, Karinna, Marissa, Ashlyn, Morgan, Calissa, and Cami

Just a cute, older pic of my beautiful sisters and me :)

Now, we are with my dad's side. (In age order - again - oldest to youngest, from right to left:) Steve, Daisy, Mitch, Janice, Brianna, Karinna, Marissa, Joshua, Jenna, and moi

OK, I've got to admit, that's a pretty cute shot of my dad and me!

Brianna: Bri is the oldest sister, and is one year graduated from college. She is a behavioral therapist; so great with the kids! In free time, she loves to watercolor and do calligraphy.

Karinna: Ki is the second child. She is a junior in college, and is working two jobs there! She is a R.A. (Resident Advisor) and a tutor. Some of her hobbies are writing, drawing, reading, and composing music.

Marissa: (you can probably tell by now, but Moo is the third daughter.) She is a junior in high school, and loves pandas and playing the cello.

Calissa: As for me - Cali - I am the youngest Wong. Like I mentioned, I am in sixth grade. I play the trumpet; I like to write, sing, DIY, and watch youtube 😛

Da parents: Steve(Dad) is the jokester of the family. He is a pastor at Fellowship Bible Church, and likes to take photos - A LOT of photos - and play the piano. Similarly, Daisy(Mom) is a stay-at-home mom who enjoys playing the piano, too; her passion is leading Women's Ministried at FBC.

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Year End Sporting Events
The girls have different tastes when it comes to sports. Brianna loves softball, and had a wonderful second season, as her team won the championship. They were awarded with humongo trophies!

Karinna's class went bowling for their year end party. Karinna surprised us as she bowled a strike and got the high score! She even beat her dad!

Marissa completed her second gymnastics class. This time around was much more fun than the first, since she took the class with her cousin Ashlyn and her friend Lauryn!

Why We Love Foster City

I spent quite a few years in the 70's growing up in Foster City. I used to ride my bike all over town, play tennis and rollerskate in the nearby parks. Even as a young child, I remember wanting to eventually come back to live in Foster City. Well, the Lord made that possible by helping us purchase a house during an optimal buyers' market! Steve and I have lived here for 14 years now and we love it here! Most of our closest friends are here; most of our favorite stores are here (Costco, Target, Safeway, Ranch 99). Foster City has a small town feel without the small. We love that we can watch the annual fireworks display here, and enjoy the annual arts and wine festival...

The Final Four

Here's Steve and the final four! People constantly assume that we're waiting for a boy, but no! We are completely happy having four girls. As much as Steve loves all kinds of sports, he's just as happy helping the girls dress their Barbie and Polly dolls!

Father's Day Service

On Father's Day, the girls sang at church. They sang a praise song called "Just Like You" (oldie but goodie) which hopefully encouraged all the dads (and the rest of us) to strive to be more and more like Jesus. Their intro went something like this...

Brianna: "When I grow up, I wanna play baseball like Barry Bonds, 'cause he's such a great baseball player."
Karinna: "When I grow up, I wanna paint like Vincent Van Gogh, 'cause he's such a good artist."
Marissa: "When I grow up, I wanna be like my daddy, 'cause he's so much like Jesus."

When I figure out how to add a video clip here, I'll include it!

Dolls and Babes

I thought it'd be fun to see how much Cali has grown compared to her faux friends. My original intention was to take monthly photos of Cali and friends, but I was only able to get photos at 3 months and 8 months!

First "Bytes" of Food
As Cali takes her first bites of solid food (first was rice cereal, second was banana, third was avocado), we are reminded of the funny things our kids used to say about one of our favorite topics...FOOD!

"I'm so sticky. I'm stickier than tape." - Karinna, age 5, after eating pancakes

"The salad is almost done with me." - Karinna, age 5

"I have zero soup. I have zero noodles. I have zero everything in my bowl." - Marissa, age 5

Brianna: "Oh no. I just swallowed a fish bone."
Marissa: "That's good. Maybe it will connect to you."
Poh Poh and Gung Gung's Other House
Poh Poh and Gung Gung are now the homeowners of a brand new townhome in Sparks, Nevada! Their first home in San Francsico is on the beach; their second home is on a golf course! Wowee! We spent Memorial Day weekend here. We brought swimsuits, tank tops and shorts, and were ready for a sunny Memorial Day weekend, but instead, we drove up in a snow blizzard and were greeted with cold, nippy weather! The kids still had fun, though, taking walks, playing outdoors, and winning animals at Circus Circus.
The grass IS greener on the other side!
This was my first Mother's Day being a mother of four! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be a mother of four. But having four girls is the best mother's day present I can think of. Thank you, Lord!! The grass IS greener on the other side, that is, on God's plan for my life, not mine!
The Latest on the Wong Girls

This is Bri's second year playing softball. This year, her team, Riptide, placed first in the Foster City league! Brianna learned a lot about being an important contributor to the greater good.
Karinna loves the Art in Action program at school. This is Karinna's interpretation of Georgia O'Keefe, the artpiece she selected for Art Showcase Night.

Marissa's kindergarten class dressed up as Mouseketeers and sang Disney songs at the Spring Concert.

And here's the littlest Wong learning to sit at the end of her sixth month!

Favorite memories of our trip

This picture was taken at Circus Circus. The kids played this game in which you race against everyone else by rolling a ball into a grid of holes with varying point values. All seats were full, which meant 4 little girls were up against many adults. Guess who won?? Ashlyn, the youngest one in the group! I was so excited, and yes, those are tears in my eyes. What a sappy aunt I am!

Our kids love this chicken game in which you hit this thingamajigger which flips the chicken which you have to land in a pot. Karinna didn't get one in, but guess who did? Yep, Ashlyn!

Cali's first time in the swimming pool...well, the swimming pool was FREEZING, so it was actually the hot tub. And since Cali LOVES her baths, it was predictable that she would love being in the "big bath."

Christine and I had so much fun posing Cali in FAO Schwarz's (located at Caesar's Palace) nursery!

Morgan LOVES her new baby cousin Cali. She loves to hold her, feed her, teach her, play with her. She's even happy bringing a blanket over to her!

Ok, how cool is this? Maybe we'll hunt this car down in 5 years. The owner probably will think it's old by then. And, oh wow, Bri will be ready to drive by then!

Two pink shirts...$6.
Two pink fluffy hairbands...$3.
Two pink happy cousins with happy memories from a trip made possible because of generous grandparents...
PRICELESS.

Las Vegas in April

Last month we took a family trip with Daisy's family to Las Vegas and stayed at Gung Gung and Poh Poh's timeshare. Here are some photos...
